GRP is a universally usable material for storing environmentally hazardous substances. The thermoset base structure combined with the glass fibre reinforcement produce good fire behaviour and high chemical resistance. GRP collecting basins combine the properties of steel and plastic. Owing to their absolute corrosion resistance, GRP collecting basins may be set up directly on the floor. The low structural height simplifies handling in the plants. All collecting basins made of glass fibre reinforced plastic (GRP) with general technical approval Z-40.12-227 of DIBt-Berlin for the prescribed storage of substances that are particularly hazardous to water. Directions regarding the required collection volume: A collecting basin must be able to take in 10% of the stored liquid quantity, but at least the quantity of the largest container.
